Conversations - “Boy”

Mom: I used to talk to my son about everything.

Onscreen: Start Early

Mom: But now when we talk about sex it’s awkward.

Boy: It’s weird talking with my parents about sex.  She always brings it up in the car.

Mom: If I wait for him to start the conversations we’d never talk about it…

Onscreen: Talk Often

Mom: … so I force myself.  He needs to understand about pregnancy and STDs.

Onscreen: Be Clear

Dad: And to know his responsibilities.

Boy: But when they do talk with me, at least I know where they stand.

Conversations - “Sure Way”

Mom: It’s not easy talking with my daughter.  I feel like I’m in it alone.

Onscreen: Be Clear

Mom: But I’m clear with her about sex.

Daughter: I don’t always like what my mom says…

Onscreen: Be Honest

Daughter: …but she’s honest with me.  I like that.

Mom: It’s not like we had “the talk”.  We have conversations about relationships, love, sex.

Onscreen: Talk Often

Mom: Because it’s important.

Daughter: Before I even thought about sex, mom and I talked about waiting.  It’s the only sure way not to get pregnant or AIDS.
